The intra-uterine contraceptive device (IUCD) is a fully reversible, long-term form of contraception. This means that you do not need to remember to take a contraceptive on a regular basis. The IUCD is a small T-shaped device that is inserted into your uterus (womb) by a trained healthcare professional. The two main types that we use are the Copper IUCD and Mirena® IUCD.
